Feagler Farms, Inc. was incorporated in 1975 as an irrigated 1500 acre farming and livestock operation raising a diverse rotation that included sugar beets, corn, edible beans, small gains, and alfalfa. In 1979, a neighbor (David and Jean Kellam) planted what was then an experimental new crop. This new crop was turf grass. We watched them develop and increase acreage to 35 acres over time. In 1999 the Kellams decided to retire and wanted to find someone who would not only purchase their business but take the torch and give this enterprise the TLC it deserved.

In 1999 Feagler Farms Inc, headed by Steve Feagler, decided to purchase the Kellam's business to diversify the farm. Torrington Sod Farms was formed to be the specialty arm that produces and markest turf grass. One of the first orders of business was to join TPI (Turfgrass Producers International) in order to broaden our knowledge base and networking within the turf industry. Under the direction of Mark Feagler (the next generation), Torrington Sod Farms has now expanded to 155 acres. TSF covers a wide geographical area and has installed soccer and baseball complexes as well as large commercial projects.
